Statistics Estonia (hereinafter – “Us” or “We”) respect and value your privacy. We have designed this Privacy Policy to inform you of how we collect and process your personal information (further – “personal data”) that you have provided to us.

This Privacy Policy applies to you when you have submitted your personal data to us in the registration form (hereinafter – “Registration Form”) through our website or via email or other channels to attend the 109th DGINS Conference (hereinafter – “DGINS 2024”).

1. Data Collection and Processing Purposes

We collect and process your personal data for several purposes:

1.1. Registration and attendance

For you to be able to register and attend DGINS 2024 organised by us, we process your personal data obtained via the website for identification and registration purposes. Personal data processing is required for us to take the necessary steps prior and during the event. If you wish, and when provided in the Registration Form, you can inform us of your dietary preferences. We will use this information to accommodate, as far as reasonable, the relevant requests.

1.2. Event photography and video

Please be aware that we may take photographs and video material at DGINS 2024 and we may use these materials on our websites (www.dgins2024.ee and www.stat.ee), social network profiles of Statistics Estonia (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) or other media to enhance awareness of our events. You as a participant may appear on such materials. If you are not comfortable with any material published containing your image, you can inform us accordingly and we will refrain from using such image in the future.

1.3. Accommodation during event

We use this information only to arrange the necessary logistics during DGINS 2024.

2. What kind of personal data is collected and processed by us?

For registration and attendance, we process the following personal data:

  • Title
  • First name(s)
  • Last name(s)
  • Email address
  • Mobile number
  • Country
  • Organisation
  • Position
  • Dietary information
  • Accommodation information
  • Attendance at the conference and social programme
  • Accompanying person's title, name and attendance at the social programme

Additionally, for speakers, moderators and session chairs, the information we collect and distribute on our website (www.dgins2024.ee), social network profiles, in printed or virtual materials may include such personal data:

  • Title, first and last name
  • Position
  • Organisation
  • Resume 
  • Photograph

3. Third Party Access

When you register for an event via the website (www.dgins2024.ee), your personal data provided in the Registration Form is processed by us and the Platform service provider (data processor), Information Technology Center of the Ministry of Finance.

The use of personal data collected by Information Technology Center of the Ministry of Finance through the website is strictly limited to the purpose of providing the website service for us.

For organisational purposes, we may share your personal data with our contractual partners and service providers (data processor) and Eurostat.

We are obliged to provide you with detailed information of your personal data recipients if you so request.

4. Data Retention

We only retain your personal data as long as necessary for the purposes this personal data was collected for.

According to Eurostat's instructions, the DGINS 2024 website will be upheld for at least 12 months after the event. Participants personal data provided for registration and attendance of DGINS 2024 will be retained for the same period.

5. Your Rights

We process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. For personal data processing which is based on your consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal becomes effective for further personal data processing.
